Web-SP
Application Server - End User License Agreement
It is highly recommended
that you read all sections of this license agreement. It contains information
on what you can and cannot do with the Web-SP application server. Many
questions are answered in the body of this document, please read it carefully.
LICENSE
The department
of LIME, Karolinska Institutet (LIME) grants you a non-exclusive license to use
the Web-SP Application Server (Software) if you follow all restrictions in all
sections of this Agreement. This license is based on a mutual understanding
that the Licensee (university/organization) and LIME want to collaborate
scientifically and educationally with the long term aim to write scientific
papers about the use of Web-SP and to develop collaborative projects between
the two organizations.
Additionally,
this permission prerequisite that LIME will get a report in electronic format
at least once a year regarding the use of the licensed software, including
number of cases developed, approximate number of users and names of the courses
where the software is used.
Important: Web-SP Application Server is NOT an open source software
product. You must follow the limitations in this software agreement. We offer
specific permission to customize the code for your own needs later in this
agreement.
Technical support and related services are available to
those following this Agreement with no charge on websp.lime.ki.se and its
related partner sites. LIME reserves the right to limit or refuse free
technical support and related services in any form for any reason.
SCOPE
OF GRANT
You may:
- Use
the Software on one (1) server per specific
university/organization
- Copy
the Software for archival purposes, provided any copy must contain all of
the original Software's proprietary notices
- Customize
the software's Graphical User Interface (GUI) design
to suit the internal needs of your university/university using the tools
provided with the Software.
- Create
applications which interface with the operation of the Software provided
said application is an original work
You may
not:
- Permit
other universities/organizations to use the Software. But feel free to
inform about and demo the software for other organizations, as long as
they are referred to LIME for questions re. Licensing etc.
- Reverse
engineer, disassemble, or create derivative works based on the Software
for distribution or usage.
- Use
the Software in such as way as to promote or provide pirated
software/content, or any other form of illegal or damaging activity
- Modify
and/or remove any copyright notices or labels on the Software
- Distribute
the software without written consent from LIME
- Distribute
or modify proprietary graphics, html, or style sheets packaged with the
Software for use in other Software applications or web sites without
written permission from LIME
DISCLAIMER
OF WARRANTY
The
Software is provided on an "AS IS" basis, without warranty of any
kind, including without limitation the warranties of merchantability, fitness
for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The entire risk as to the
quality and performance of the Software is borne by you. Should the Software
prove defective, you and not LIME assume the entire cost of any service and
repair. This disclaimer of warranty constitutes an essential part of the
agreement.
TITLE
Title,
ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in the Software shall remain
with LIME. Title and related rights in the content accessed through the
Software is the property of the applicable content owner and may be protected
by applicable law. This License gives you no rights to such content.
TERMINATION
This
Agreement will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with the
limitations described herein. On termination, you must destroy all copies of
the Software within 48 hours.
UPDATES/UPGRADES
A
licensed user may receive upgrades/updates of the Software.
MISCELLANEOUS
LIME
reserves the right to change the terms of this Agreement at any time however
those changes are not retroactive to past releases. Changes to the Agreement
will be announced via email and on http://websp.lime.ki.se/license. Failure to
receive notification of a change does not make those changes invalid. A current
copy of this Agreement will be available on http://websp.lime.ki.se/license.
